Introduction to Body Language for Law Enforcement

This text on body language for law enforcement was written to introduce the basic concepts of body language, rapport building and proxemics to the average police officer. When one person is talking to another, there is a silent undercurrent of information being unconsciously exchanged between the participants. Being aware of and understanding this flow of information enables you to control the conversation, obtain information and influence the actions of others. It is designed to give the reader a basic understanding of the nonverbal communications that occurs between people to better enable you to communicate.
