Fibre and Yarn Quality in Jute Spinning

Jute fibre has been used for the commercial manufacture of heavy textile yarns and fabrics for over 150 years. This volume deals with fibres on machinery research work and shows how the interaction of fibre and spinning system determines the physical characteristics of the spun yarn. This leads to a knowledge of the parameters that determine the spinning performance of the fibres and an insight into how these can be measured an d evaluated. The author argues that this more quantitative approach is necessary for the future development of both fibre and machinery.
