Asclepius : The God of Medicine

This work aims to popularize Asclepius as well as to interpret the present day use of his staff and serpent symbol by the various disciplines of the health care team. It offers a wide-ranging survey and discussion of the god Asclepius in the ancient world of Greece and Rome based upon first-hand evidence.
