Uncle Tom's Boji

My mother, Jeanne, and I, Brooks, after Tom's death, decided to tell the story of Boji from the dog's viewpoint of his experiences as a companion to a world-class author, competitive swimmer, boxer, and well-known sailor, as well as a competitive shooter in the most prominent field trial competitions. We wrote the story of Boji through his eyes. We remembered all the times that dog, under Tom's direction, would work to perfection in retrieving. It was as if he was saying to us, "Look at me." We saw their communication and were amazed at the dog's willingness to please. Boji's sense of honor to us as observers inspired us to write his story for all dog lovers who were lucky enough to have that one "special" and "memorable" dog. Both were famous in their own right and it was our pleasure to have known them.
