Governance, Corruption, and Economic Performance

This book brings together a range of research studies carried out by the IMF with the objective of promoting good governance in member countries in order to increase economic growth and reduce poverty. Topics discussed include: the causes and consequences of corruption; its impact on public finances and the provision of public services, tax revenues, income equality and poverty; and the issue of governance in transition economies.
