Girls Like Us : Forty Extraordinary Women Celebrate Girlhood in Story, Poetry, and Song

This anthology, celebrating reflections of childhood and adolescence by prominent women of this century, has contributions from Margaret Atwood, Lauren Bacall, Joan Baez, Naomi Wolf, Amy Tan, Isabel Allende and Gwendolyn Brooks. Entries are comprised of original text, or excerpts from previously unpublished pieces of work and a short biography. Charting the p oignant moments prominent women of this century experienced during their coming-of-age, 40 women from different backgrounds and all ways in life share their experiences, role models, mentors, and moments that were rich in meaning during their childhood and teenage years.
