No Magic : Readings in Social Work Field Education

Field education in social work requires an alliance between practitioners and academics. In this collection five practitioners and eleven academics have combined to examine aspects of field education in a variety of settings. A number of issues are developed in detail. What emerges from this collection is a strong sense that social work students become true professionals - combining both theory and skill - through the partnership between the agency and the university.
