Statistical Methods for Hospital Monitoring with R

Hospitals are becoming more complex and monitoring is increasing both because staff want their data analyzed and because of increasing mandated surveillance. This book provides a clear, easy-to-understand introduction to statistical methods using R, with emphasis on the needs of scientists in hospital departments who are responsible for producing a growing number of reports and are frequently actively involved in improving safety, but who have fairly limited statistical expertise. Although some complex methods are employed, such as the Bayesian random-effects model, these are kept to a simple application.
