An 1880 Schoolhouse Sampler

Here is a collection of selected pages from several textbooks published in 1880. There are reading exercises from a McGuffey Reader; fables from Webster's "Blue-Backed Speller", and math problems that reflect the life experiences of the time. To add context and background, we also include information about some of the major events of the day, and copies of advertisements from the 1880 issues of Harper's Weekly.
