Fairy Tales, Fables, Legends and Myths : Using Folk Literature in Your Classroom

In this second edition of her work, Bette Bosma includes a new chapter, Folk Literature in Multicultural Education, and incorporates more information about native American tribes and their tales, offering many engaging ideas for children to respond to stories through writing and other activities. In addition, over half of the 180 books annotated in the final section, A Guide to Recommended Folk Literature, are new to this edition. This material allows teachers from pre-school through middle school to involve students in art, music, drama, storytelling, improvization, puppetry, and pantomime through the use of folk literature-based reading program.
